Kudu
Kudu/ Tragelaphus strepsiceros
Habitat: |
In the bush and savannas in the Sub-Saharan Africa. An emblematically beautiful antelope. Clear gender dimorphism – females do not have horns. |
Size: |
A typical male is about 160 cm tall at the withers and weighs up to 250 kg. A female weighs up to 180 kg. |
Habits: |
It does not gather in large herds but it rather forms a family community. |
Hunting advice: |
Most often, it is hunted on land by stalking or at drinking places. Aim at the chest. It may attack you only if wounded and from an immediate proximity. |
Caliber: |
We recommend a caliber of minimum .30-06 with an 11,7-gram bullet. |
Trophy: |
The horns, some prepare the skin, too, but we do not consider it fit. A chest mount is very beautiful. We do not recommend preparation in Africa. The record of a horn is 182 cm. |
Location: |
In all hunting destinations we offer. We recommend Kudu hunt in Namibia where we have harvested our largest and most beautiful trophies and the population is the largest. |
