Springbok / Antidorcas marsupialis

Information

Habitat:

A common species. A beautiful, strong and swift animal with a specific lira-like shape of the horns. Its natural habitat, where it is also widely spread, is the savannas of Namibia, Botswana and Northern RSA.

Size:

A typical male is about 80 cm tall at the withers and weighs up to 40 kg., a female weighs up to 30 kg.

Habits:

Forms large herds. When hit in the body, jumps very high. A very fast antelope.

Hunting advice:

Most often, it is hunted on land by stalking or at drinking places. Aim at the chest.

Caliber:

We recommend a caliber of minimum .30-06 with a 11,7-gram bullet.

Trophy:

The horns. A chest mount is very beautiful. We do not recommend taxidermy preparation in Africa. The record of a horn is 50 cm.

Location:

In all hunting destinations we offer in Botswana, Zambia, Namibia and Northern RSA. We recommend Springbok hunt in Namibia – it is where we have harvested our largest and most beautiful trophies and where the species is most widely spread.
