Burchell’s Zebra
Burchell’s Zebra / Equus burchelii
Habitat: |
A common species. A beautiful, strong animal with beautiful skin. Widely distributed in all Southern Africa. |
Size: |
A typical male is about 130 cm tall at the withers and weighs up to 350 kg. |
Habits: |
Forms herds. |
Hunting advice: |
Most often, it is hunted on land by stalking or by drinking places. Aim at the chest. Very enduring to wounds. |
Caliber: |
We recommend a caliber of minimum 9,3 in all of its varieties. |
Trophy: |
The skin made into a carpet. A chest mount is very beautiful. We do not recommend taxidermy preparation in Africa. No trophy hall is complete should it lack a Zebra skin. |
Location: |
In all hunting destinations we offer in Tanzania, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and RSA. In small regions of Namibia, you may encounter the mountain Zebra called Hartman’s Zebra. It can be distinguished from the Burchell’s Zebra by the fact that it does not have stripes on its belly and by the specific, hanging skin of its throat. |
